5 DEADLY SOCIAL MEDIA MISTAKES MANY SPEAKERS MAKE AND HOW YOU SHOULDN’T FALL INTO ANY OF THEM

Everybody knows that if you use Facebook creatively and well, it can boost your personal brand and bring you huge customers… And profitable friendships.

But some of us have not really been taught how to use Facebook.

That explains why many of us are TERRIBLE AT USING FACEBOOK FOR BETTER RESULTS.
That is also why even though we keep showing up regularly, we still don’t get the level of results we want from our time and efforts on social media.

TODAY, I’ll show you how to boost your social media presence especially Facebook so that you can improve your personal brand. THE

Stop using a name that is not your real name on Facebook.

Stop writing your name wrongly on Facebook

Put your nick name where it’s supposed to be ( Facebook provided a space for that)

2. THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR PICTURE (DP)

Over 75% of the time, people accept or reject your friends request because of your dp. Many people treat you the way your dp portrays you.

❌ Put your own picture on your Facebook dp. If you’re not proud of your face why should anyone be proud of you?

No one wants to relate with a faceless brand.

Stop using someone’s face on your Facebook dp– people want to imagine who they are talking to…

We don’t want to see cat, car, Rihanna, or Messi’s face.

We want to see YOUR fucking FACE 😡

❌ Stop putting a poor picture of your already not-so-good-looking face on Facebook.

For the love of God, we have photo studios you can just enter to take a professional picture for N500 or less.

If you’re serious about becoming a high profile speaker, and you can neither borrow nor afford N500 to recreate your graphical looks– please, STOP IT.

Ask a sister to lend your their nice phones. If she’s a slay queen, she most probably has a good phone with good camera.

You cannot change your REAL LOOK but you can GET A GOOD LOOKING PERSONAL PICTURE.

3. THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR WRITING STYLE

Stop writing in abbreviations!!!!!!!

Yes… STOP THAT NONSENSE.

You’re a brand. You’re an authority at least in the making.

So when you’re writing for the public don’t say “I wan2 giv U som powafl inpratn…”

Please write your sentence in full.

This of course excludes when you are writing emotional reactions that are commonly known in their abbreviations like LOL, WTF, LWKM etc. The reason is because if you write these ones in full, people will have to get to the end of the sentence to understand it’s just an emotion you want to portray and not a comment you want to make.

Also this does not apply when you’re writing Nigerian Pidgin.

In that case you write it the way it’s generally perceived and can easily be understood.

“Se you grab?” 😀

Stop clustering posts.

Break your sentence into simple snappy paragraphs that can easily be read.

See the way I’m writing this.

Did you notice the way I’m jumping lines, writing short punch lines that can easily be skimmed?

That’s a writing style you should learn if you want people- lazy people (who make up more than 70% of all of us INCLUDING ME) to read what you wrote.

Learn to EMPHASIZE too.

Just capitalize or make your text bold like I just did. 😀

4️. THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR BOREDOM

❌ DO YOU BORE PEOPLE with the way you TALK?

Many of us do…

“Hello sir”

“Hello”

“How are you sir?”

Sir: fine

Nothing more.

Two weeks later…

“Hello sir”

Nothing more.

Two months later

“Hello sir.”

This 👆 is why some of you cannot even get one girl on Facebook to talk with you despite all your trying.

Poor social communication skill does not just affect business it also affects potential relationships.

Unless you want to remain single for the rest of your life, you might want to change this for good.

If you want to strike a conversation you need to be strategic about it.

Go through the persons wall to have feel of who they are, what they do etc.

When you visit their inbox, greet and drop a sentence that encourages them to talk.

“Hello sir, I read your post yesterday about STEALING FROM CREATIVE GENIUS… Such a powerful post.”

“But I’m curious… How does Newbies like my self get to do this without plagiarizing?”

Then wait…

Please don’t come to someone’s inbox and ask them question that their fb profile has already answered.

Isnor fair na.

5. THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR POSITIONING

A lot of people depend on your Facebook profile to remember or know what you do.

Your profile is a very important component of your personal brand on Facebook.

❌ Some people have been using the same Facebook profile description since 2013.

They’ve graduated oh but their profile reads “student at Gods Own College”

“Self employed at Business Owner”

“Based Port Harcourt- Student at UNN, Zaria”

Very very confusing.

In your profile description:

✔️ Update to recent information

️ Upload relevant information

️ Re-describe yourself every three to six months until you get that simple and short description that quickly sells you.

️ Don’t go over the board on your description.

DON’T TELL US EVERYTHING THERE’S ABOUT YOUR LIFE.

That would make you look very confused and a sort of Jack of all Trade.

Tell the most important.

Tell us the one that sells you.

Two to three is enough.

And please ADD A HUMAN TOUCH TOO.

People love to do business with human beings.

Not spirikoko. Not celeb. Not I-tooSabi.

So…

Add that fact that you love eating “Shawarma”

Or you still prefer “Sleeping on the floor” to sleeping on your six feet family matrass.

You’d be amazed how many people connect with people just because There’s a little strange and normal thing about them.

So…

I hope you enjoyed this.

Ask your questions in the comment.

I’ll be glad to reply.

Thanks

#Dr. Miki
